This 12-day adventure takes you deep into the Danakil Depression, one of the hottest and most geologically active places on Earth, and then into the heart of the Omo Valley, home to some of Africa’s most fascinating and diverse tribes.


Itinerary 

Day 01: Arrive Addis Ababa and City Tour

Arrive at Bole International Airport.
Welcome and transfer to hotel.
Visit National Archaeological Museum to see “Lucy” skeleton.
Explore Ethnological Museum at Addis Ababa University.
Visit Holy Trinity Cathedral.
Drive to Mount Entoto for panoramic city views.

Day 02: Drive Addis Ababa to Semera vis Awash

We can wake up early morning To Drive from Addis Abeba through Awash including activities in Awash National Park, here’s a suggested itinerary: Start with exploring Addis Ababa, then head to Awash National Park for wildlife viewing and natural attractions, and finally continue to Semera, the capital of the Afar region.

Day 03: Semera to Danakil Depression

Drive in 4×4 vehicle to Danakil Depression, “Lost Point of the Earth”.
Stop at Lake Afdera, a hypersaline lake with unique geology.
Continue to Amidala to meet police scouts and obtain permits.
Observe camel caravans transporting salt to Semera.
Walk in Ale Asele area and enjoy sunset.

Camp overnight at Hamed Ela.

Day 04: Explore DALLOL and Erta Ale Volcano

Visit Dallol, Africa’s lowest point at 116 meters below sea level.
Observe colorful mineral formations and hot springs.
Visit Lake Asale for salt harvesting by Afar nomads.
Drive to Dodom and trek 15 km to Erta Ale volcano.
Watch volcanic eruption at night.

Return to base camp and camp overnight.

Day 05: DRIVE ERETA ALE TO SEMERA

Descend from Erta Ale early morning. Stop at Lake Afdera hot springs for swimming and relaxation.
Drive to Semera to catch flight to Addis Ababa.

Day 06: DRIVE SEMERA – ADDIS ABEBA

This day morning after we can had with our best profssional cooker we can have our breakfast continued driving to Addis Abeba through Awash .

Day 07: Fly Addis Ababa to Jinka (Baco) – Drive to Turmi (Hamar Tribe)

we can Take flight from ADD – Jinka airport and continue driving 130km to Turmi town. On the way, you will visit a tribal market such as Keyafer market (on Thursday), Aldduba Market (on Tuesday), Dimeka market (on Saturday), or Turmi market (on Monday). If it’s not a market day, you will visit a village of the Banna tribe on the way. You will also visit a small group of Mursi people near Keyafer town where you will see women with a lip plate and body scarification. You may also witness the famous Bull Jumping Ceremony of the Banna or Hamar Tribe on this day upon availability.

Day 08 : Drive frim Turmi to Omo Rate and Visit the Dassanech people – Return back to Turmi

Drive 70km south to meet with the Dassanech people. The word Dassanech means people of the delta. They are unique people whose livelihood interlay depends on the Omo River. Return to Turmi for lunch and visit a market if it is a market day. You may also see the Bull Jumping Ceremony (Optional).

Day 09 : Drive from Turmi to Karo tribe village and visit the Kara people

Drive 65km west of Turmi and meet the Kara (Karo) tribe famous for body and facial paintings. They live in a beautiful village by the shore of the Omo River. You will meet the kara people and visit a family who will prepare a traditional coffee ceremony in their house. You will have the chance to discuss with the family and get a genuine connection with the people. You will return to Turmi for lunch, you may attend a tribal market on a market day (Monday, Thursday, and Saturday). You may also see the Bull Jumping Ceremony of the Hamar (upon availability) or the Evangadi Dancing Ceremony (if available).

Day 10 : Drive from Turmi to Konso via Arbore tribe

Following breakfast drive 200 km to Konso. On the way, you will visit the Arbore tribe who reside on the desert area near Lake Stephanie. They are agricultural and pastoral community who speaks a Cushitic language. The Konso people are known for their unique terracing skills. The ancient villages of the Konso (over 1000 years) and the landscape with terraces are registered by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The people of Konso erect wooden statues or totems called “waka” for heroes and chiefs.

Day 11: Drive from Konso to Arbaminch – Visit the Dorze Village – Arba Minch

On the morning of this day, you will visit Konso village UNESCO world heritage site. You will discover the ancient wall or fortress of the Konso village, the community houses (Mora), and generation poles. You will also visit the Konso chief’s compound and meet him at his traditional palace. You will visit his ancestral graveyard inside the forest by walking for about 20 minutes one way. Continue to Arba Minch for lunch and prosed to Dorze peoples village located on top of the Guge Mountain at an altitude of 2400 meters. You will enjoy the traditional doze food made from the False Banana (Enset) plant, and experience the traditional techniques of weaving and making pottery.

Day 12 : Boat Trip on Lake Chamo – Fly from Arba Minch to Addis Ababa (Afternoon flight)

After breakfast, you will drive 10km to Lake Chamo and go on a boat trip to see Crocodiles, Hippos, and some birdlife at the so-called Crocodile Market. You will return back to Arba Minch and head to the airport for your flight to Addis Ababa. In our Last day we can enjoy at Yod abssyina culctural Resturanta we will test ethiopian delcious cousin called injera with shero or beyayent and ethiopian coffee and local honey wine called Tji and you can see ethipian diverse unique cultural dancing . Before enjoyment shopping time any kind souvinours if you interested you well come .
